Termidor is a new type of termite control that for over 5 years has faced the stiffest tests that both US and foreign researchers could throw at it.
Without exception, Termidor passed with flying colours. In fact, no other termiticide in history has consistenly returned "100% effective" results whenever and wherever it was used.
Just about everything, including the "transfer effect". It all begins with fipronil. Fipronil is the active ingredient in Termidor, and it works quite differently from other termiticide active ingredients.
Many termiticides are repellents. This means that they keep termites away from a treated area, rather than killing them. But if there is a gap in the treatment - maybe someone digs up a flowerbed and breaks the line of defence - the repellant effect fails and the termites get thru. It happens frequently, and your only recourse is to have your house re-treated.
Termidor is non-repellent. Termites can't smell it, see it, or feel it. Since they do not know it is there, they forage freely in a treated area. The 100% effective results begin here.
Termites are social insects who live in large, underground colonies. They feed each other primarily by passing food from mouth to mouth. They groom each other. They contact each other as they forage for food. And Termidor takes advantage of this social behaviour.
As well as eating Termidor, a termite will also unknowingly pick it up and carry it back to the colony on its body. Thus, every other termite it contacts, feeds or grooms will itself become a carrier, contacting and infecting others.

In the past, the conventional control treatment for subterranean termites were done to form a chemical barrier surrounding the structure which prevents termite entry by killing termites as they encounter the chemical in the soil; or as a repellent barrier - which deters termites from entering the treated soil. Chlorpyrifos, the active ingredient used here were utilizing the repellent agent which have a disadvatage because foraging termites may still randomly attack your structures, eventually penetrating a route and breaking the chemical defense barrier. This also causes the termites colony to their other available food sources such as tree roots, fallen limbs, fences, etc. Soil treatment zones are intended to control termites for extended period of time, however, they may be breached due to physical disturbance of the treated zone (landscaping activities, constructions, erosion etc). We believe this conventional termiticide will not be able to solve the current termite infestation faced by your management but instead will elevate the problem and resulting more termite activities spread to other unaffected areas.
 TERMINATOR BAITING SYSTEM (TBS) is a good approach for permanent solution in protecting your building from all major species of subterranean termites because it work by eliminating the colony, while being non-destructive to property owner. TERMINATOR BAITING SYSTEM (TBS) is a long term protection against termites' damage and also an important part of your Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program.
The concept of this baiting system lies on the attractant or bait lure as this consists of a high content of CELLULOSE, which attracts mainly termites. Terminator baiting system bait lure is an all ORGANIC material, which do not contain any toxicant or chemicals.
 Judging from the size of the TERMINATOR tubes and baits lure, a mass recruitment of termites is essential as worker termites constantly forage for wood and food source to feed the colony. This stations will be inspected between 4 to 6 weeks where once TERMINATOR baits lure is found, termites will leave trails to summon their nest mates to the food center. Purpose of treating large numbers of captured termites where it leads to more death of the treated termite colony during termiticide treatment. Termiticides, (which is approved by the Pesticides Board of Malaysia) will then applied into the infested TERMINATOR tubes to eliminate them. Please note that it is important that the treated TERMINATOR is not disturbed in anyway once the termite toxicant is applied. This will then by re-inpsecting on the monitoring station for another 10 to 14 days.
 After the successful colony elimination, TERMINATOR BAITING SYSTEM will act as a continuous and permanent monitoring device which will be on duty to find and eliminate any new colony that will invade your property. Further re-inspection and re-activation of baits lue will be carried out on a quaterly interval.
